He Looks Like a Rapper But Runs a $2M Accounting Firm

You'd never guess it by his rapper appearance, but my recent podcast guest, Scott Scarano, is a highly successful accounting firm owner.

When I first met Scott, I honestly did not take him for a firm owner. Between the hat, chain, and lack of a typical "accountant look," I assumed he was just another of Michael Ly's eclectic connections.

But I was so, so wrong. Turns out Scott owns a firm approaching $2 million in revenue annually. And with the systems he's put in place, he can pull hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in owner profit while only working about 1 hour a week on the business.

That's an effective hourly rate that blows away any Big Four partner!

Scott proves you don't need to fit the stereotypical accountant mold to build a lucrative firm. He exudes creative passion between his rapping alter ego "OKR" and running an edgy accounting-focused media platform.

Scott has structured his firm to operate efficiently without requiring daily involvement. He has implemented systems for sales, onboarding, and ongoing support, enabling his team to excel independently.

So don't judge an accountant by their cover. As Scott demonstrates, firm owners can crush it financially while expressing their individuality however they choose.
